Over the weekend, Chloe was baptized at St Pius by Father Ken. There were many in the crowd to cheer her on! She was actually well behaved the whole time sans a few attempts to rip Grandma Terri’s earrings out. After the baptism, people came over to the house and we hung out until the Lewis, Dunaway, and Holding families had to head back south to Wichita.
It was also Chloe’s first Halloween. She was a lady bug. Her first treat of her Halloween career was a Kit Kat from our neighbor across the street. She had a death grip on it for the entire night. By the end of the night it was a gooey chocolate mess inside the wrapper.
A big event for mom and dad…we went out for the first time without Chloe since she was born! There was a dinner and party for the KU Pediatrics department that we went to while Grandma and Grandpa Lewis babysat. As soon as we walked in the door, Kelly’s phone started ringing and she probably answered it in record time. To say someone was anxious would be a modest understatement.
Regarding milestones, she will stand for a little bit if you put her hands on something. There has also been an isolated incident of her pulling herself up in her crib. Kelly walked in and BOOM there she was standing. The crib was lowered soon afterwards! She’s become quite the vocal and moody girl. If you even think about taking something out of her hand, tears are soon to follow. She’s still not crawling completely, and I’m not sure she will. Chloe might be one of the kids that skips that and just starts walking. No discernible words yet, but she can really get on a ‘ba ba ba ba ba ba ba ba’ kick.
It’s a big weekend coming up with the Sunflower Showdown, and Chloe is nervous to say the least. Chloe said that until she gets her picture with Willie, Big Jay is the mascot of her favorite team. So Willie, get to KC for a photo op so we can have equal representation.
Somehow we don’t have as many pictures from the baptism as we thought so please email us your pictures and we’ll put them up on the blog!
