Obviously we’ve been more than just a little slow to update the blog. The viral season hit a little later than normal so work was very busy in general and I have been working in the hospital quite a bit lately so it’s been nuts. Work has been busier than normal for Kelly too with some restructuring of her department. We will have a lengthy update soon but here is a video of Chloe today picking up eggs.

Puking, Bye Bye, Blizzards, Things We Do…
Last night Chloe was in our room and gave Kelly a very weird and unfamiliar look. Kelly went to pick her up and then Chloe’s mouth was similar to a broken fire hydrant except the fluid coming out of her mouth was strawberry red stained. She did it again when we were giving her some crackers in her high chair. She gave the same ‘uh oh’ look so I went to get her and put her over the sink but we were a second too slow so the kitchen floor and cabinets got hit. I was home so we kept Chloe at our house but took Trey to daycare so he wouldn’t catch anything from Chloe. To say that Chloe loves Trey would be a large understatement. She’s either hugging, kissing, trying to hold him, etc. all the time. She is fine now except her appetite hasn’t quite come back yet.
Last night we kind of thought Trey said ‘bye bye’ but didn’t think much of it. Today when I picked him up from day care, Cindy thought he was saying it. I was telling Kelly how Cindy thought he was saying ‘bye bye’ and Trey starts saying ‘bye bye’ in his baby voice. Maybe we are hearing things or maybe he’s Doogie Howser, only time will tell.
The meteorologists were actually correct for once. Here is some video out or bedroom window from when the snow was coming down the heaviest.
Kelly actually had a lot to do for work today so Chloe and I were hanging out. Grandpa gave her a card that sings Santa Clause is Coming to Town and she loves it. She also enjoys wearing her reindeer antlers. Throw in the snow and we had a very Christmas-like dance going.
Bath time has not been as easy as it was before with Chloe. We think she knows that bath time leads to bed time. As a result, Kelly has been working on her ventriloquist skills to coax Chloe into the bath. She didn’t know I was taping her though…

Mom and Dad, look at me!
For the last week, Trey has been getting up on all fours and then kind of falling down. This morning, he got up and did a little bit of rocking on the bed before we left for the babysitter’s house. We kind of figured he would be crawling in a few weeks. Today when I picked the kids up, Cindy told us he crawled across her front room. As soon as we got home, we put him on the floor in his room and away he went. It won’t take long and he’ll be moving all over the place.

Trey & Blue Bear 7mo Together!
This picture was almost impossible to take because I had the “help” of Chloe. Here is a link to the pictures that show Trey looking ALL AROUND because Chloe was running & yelling ALL AROUND.

Snow Is Here!!!
Miss Chloe’s face looks so fat because her mouth is full of ‘ICE.’ No worries though because no dogs had been in our front yard so it was yellow snow free.
After we bought the house, I think just about everyone openly wondered what the driveway would be like when it snowed. Now we can answer that…slick but not impossible to get up. It definitely needs to be scooped if there are a couple inches but it’s manageable. This week I shoveled in the midst of the snow storm. It was pretty depressing to have one side look untouched when I went to the other side since it was snowing so much at that time. Believe it or not, our neighbors driveway has more of an angle than ours and she couldn’t get up it right after shoveling. I helped her get her car up the driveway and she told me that her husband has a snow blower so don’t shovel our driveway because he would do it. I went out around 8:30 that night to shovel and he comes running over telling me to stop. He fired up the snow blower and soon after getting done, I was looking for a snow blower on craigslist.
Trey has been sitting up very well without help and is starting to get pretty demanding. He starts squirming and getting fussy quickly which is his way of saying ‘PUT ME IN MY STANDING SAUCER NOW!!!!’ Here’s some video of him.
We took the dogs to the vet this week and got some bad news about Maddie. Her kidney function has been borderline bad for awhile. Our guess is its due to the severe urinary tract infections she had when we first got her. It took almost a year from when we got her to get her infections gone. Since then she’s had no issues. The vet told us she’s had a noticeable worsening in her kidney function so we are starting her on special food to hopefully keep things from getting worse.
Chloe got a new snow suit this week. She’s been asking to go on a walk and outside for weeks but the temperatures and snow haven’t really allowed it. This morning, Chloe and I made the trek to the front yard. She was quadruple layered everywhere except her gloves, which was double layered.
She initially had no idea what to do but then started to really get into throwing the snow. Maddie was in the yard with us and was playing with Chloe too. I had to basically bury Chloe’s legs from the knees down so she wouldn’t fall due to the pitch of our yard. Then we got the saucer out and our yard is perfect for a little kid to sled in.
Chloe and I worked on doing snow angels, but we don’t have that figured out yet. She just laid in the snow stuffing it in her mouth and laughing.

Move Over Paula Deen…
Chloe and I cashed in on my Christmas present this weekend…The Cooking w/ Tots Class at the KC Culinary Institute and we had a blast!
We made & decorated sugar cookies. We built a Mr. Potato Head out of a baked potato & cut up fresh veggies. We rolled up pigs in a blanket and we ‘stirred’ together root beer floats (we didn’t add the root beer, though), we just did ice cream, whip cream, & mashed up cherries. They brought out corn dogs for us to eat at our leisure and had YUMMMMYYYY hot chocolate (‘shocko milk’ as Chloe called it) for us to ‘dink’.
Chloe’s favorite things were eating the cookie dough, making Mr. Potato Head, AND cleaning up the floor with paper towels. Lots of kids made a big mess so she was in Heaven wiping up after them. For Mr. Potato Head she picked out the eyes, mouth, & nose. She loves tomatoes, so it’s a miracle that he got to keep his nose, because she kept eating each tomato we tried to put on. Then she must have gotten full because she told me “nose” and the last one stayed on.
We got to take home everything we made (that we didn’t eat) & extra cookie dough so we could do cookies at home too. They even had to go cups for the drinks so we could take those home too. Chloe also got to take home a Toy Story toy & stickers.
Needless to say, I signed us up for the other two classes they are offering. We are on a waiting list for the March Class, but we have a spot for the April Class. I can’t wait until Trey is older and he can go too!
Kudos to Mike for giving me this for Christmas! It truly was one of the best Christmas presents he’s ever given me.
