In one of the most emotional ceremonies we’ve ever been to, Scott was commissioned into the Unites States Marines Corps yesterday. We made a whirlwind trip to Wichita for it. We’ll be back on the road in less than 72 hours to head back to Wichita for Christmas.

10 months old, Daddy’s Bday, and whooping cough!
The last few weeks have been anything but laid back. First off, Chloe had her 10 month birthday. That was celebrated with the monthly pictures with Pink Bear. The monthly pictures have been a neat little synopsis of her development. Initially we had to prop her up completely, then we just had to keep her from tipping over, and now she prefers to play with the bear rather than pose with him.
My 31st birthday came and went with lots of excitement all for the wrong reasons. The night before, Chloe woke up at midnight and I recognized her cough while Kelly was tending to her. Thus, I had to make a midnight trip to a 24 hour pharmacy for antibiotics for Chloe’s whooping cough as well as Kelly. Unfortunately, anyone that is in contact with a person that has whooping cough 24 hours before their symptoms start, they also need to take the antibiotics. So…I made quite a few phone calls for Chloe’s friends at daycare, her daycare provider, and some parent education about pertusis (whooping cough). On top of that, Chloe had to stay out of daycare for the entire 5 day course of her medicine so Kelly had to work from home when she had clients in town. In other words, not a convenient illness! Back to my birthday, Kelly and Chloe made me a cookie.
Hopefully the pictures will be of better quality going forward since we got a new camera for my birthday. We took the Christmas card picture with it. Everyone will have to wait for their card to see the specific picture but here are some during Chloe’s warm up period before the official Christmas card picture was taken.
